Release 1 – October 19, 2023

  • Authentication:  The minimum password length that can be used for any new or changed passwords is now 8 characters.  Users with passwords shorter than 8 characters can continue to use that password, but the next time a change is made, the length will need to be 8 characters or more.  The Authentication Settings will no longer allow administrators to set up password character combinations less than 8 characters as well.

  • For customers using portfolio integration, OrgPlus now uses the employee’s Preferred Name in the “Full Name” formula field, which is displayed in the org chart.  We want the employee’s interactions with their company organizational chart to match their personal interactions with their coworkers.  Note that customers who prefer to use an employee’s given name still have the ability to do so.  We also now display an employee’s identified gender in the org chart for those customers displaying gender as part of an employee directory or diversity view.  Again, this change was made to ensure looking at the organizational chart would correspond with an employee’s personal interactions with their coworkers.

  • Roles: We’ve updated Roles to allow users with limited field access to build views for others to use.  Previously, we excluded Views access from a Role when a Field Policy was in place.
    • An example scenario:  Executive Sarah needs her administrative assistant to build a new view that contains information that Xavier (her admin assistant) won’t have access to see in the workspace.  Xavier will build the view for Sarah, let her know it is available, and she will let him know if adjustments need to be made.

  • Sign On: We updated the sign on process to no longer display TRUSTe logos or seals.

Release 7 – August 20, 2020

  • Users:  We updated the application to always show a user’s first name and last name instead of the user login name. This should help reduce confusion when user login names aren’t readily understandable.
  • Users:  We updated the application to allow longer email address suffixes.  For example, a user can be added with at ‘.global’ email address.

Release 6 – July 9, 2020

  • Workforce Optimization clients that allow ALL of their employees to access an employee directory view can take advantage of a time-saving enhancement that automatically adds or removes access to the application for every employee as they are hired and terminated. With the Manage Users option enabled, administrators no longer have to upload a user file to manage users. Each employee will be given the employee directory role when hired. Administrators can access the application and upgrade the user’s role based on their subscription. Clients who want to exclude one or more employees from accessing the employee directory view will not be able to take advantage of this enhancement.   • Roles – Removed some administrative features available to non-administrators. This ensures that a non-administrator cannot grant unwanted access to others in different organizations.
  • Search Panel – Added the ability for users to create their own list of filters! Running filters to isolate talent pools is very helpful. Now it’s going to be easier. Clicking the Filter icon in the Search Panel allows you to create a one time (ad hoc) filter using the ‘Custom’ option, or save a filter to re-use later using the ‘My Filter’ option.

  • Fields: The formula field that returns details about an employee’s current manager (Lookup and Reference/Reports To) was enhanced to allow more options to be returned.  Instead of only returning data about the current manager, details can now be returned for up to 6 levels above the employee.  You can also start at the top of an employee’s chain of command and come down (from the CEO) up to 6 levels.

  • Workspace: A ‘Restore Chart to Default Settings’ button is available on the toolbar.  This button allows users to ‘reset’ their View so there are no branch styles, manual sub-chart breaks, or reordered boxes displayed.  This is useful when you accidentally move the wrong boxes or apply incorrect branch styles.

  • Workspace/Views: We added the ability to display employee photos on the left side of a box with employee data on the right side of the box. Access Administration -> Views -> Styles and choose the “Image on Left” option.
  • Workspace: Users can re-sort boxes directly in the chart! For example, if the view is sorting by last name, but users want to move a Senior Director to the left, they can accomplish that by dragging/dropping the box to the desired position.

  • Succession Planning: When sharing a Succession Plan with another user, the application now sends an email to that user notifying them of the shared plan.

  • Workspace: A new Chart Text Box is available in the workspace.  Click the Add Text Box icon in the Workspace Tool Bar and include information about the sub-chart displayed.  This is also available in Planning mode, so you can include details about why a transfer, termination, or addition occurs.
  • Workspace: The Primary Workspace area has been expanded to more effectively display boxes in the chart.  To make room for this, we moved the Organization Selector to a new menu icon at the top of the left navigation bar.  Click the icon to select the Organization you wish to view.  This change carries over to the Workforce Plans and Administration pages.

  • Workforce Planning: When proposing changes to your organization information is critical. We added the ability to add/edit notes for an employee directly in the plan. Click New Plan or open an existing plan, hover your cursor over the box for the desired employee, and then click the Employee Notes button. A rich text editor will be available to add/edit notes. Users can move the notes around the work space, compare notes for multiple employees, and export them to Excel.
