Kansas University Endowment Improves Visibility into Their Organization Using OrgPlus

Kansas University Endowment Association (KU Endowment) wanted to redesign the presentation of their organization on their intranet. The ultimate goal was to clearly communicate everyone's role within the KU Endowment by publishing a timely and dynamic view of the organization that included employee photos, contact information and job responsibilities.

After researching the options, KU Endowment selected OrgPlus. No other product was as effective for automating chart creation, publishing to the company intranet or presenting a dynamic picture of the organization.

When the KU Endowment started a project to update their intranet, it became apparent that employees needed a better way to organize and display personal and professional information dynamically. Management also wanted to sort a directory by first name and generate a photo, contact information and link to other information about the employee.

At the start of the evaluation, the KU Endowment staff members had not updated the design of the people and places HTML page on the intranet in more than seven years. They needed a dynamic solution that would allow them to replace the static HTML page with a contentrich, navigable and current representation of everyone at KU Endowment.

The challenge was to find both a dynamic tool to help people better understand their place within the organization and a resource for locating useful information about employees to create greater efficiencies across the organization. Most importantly, they wanted to ensure that information in the chart would be accurate and easy to maintain.

After a thorough evaluation, the KU Endowment chose OrgPlus Professional. Using OrgPlus Professional, the KU Endowment employees automatically import and update organizational information directly from the data source, which means they can count on the accuracy and timeliness of the data.

Using the profiles, directories, sub-charting, find a photo and searching features in OrgPlus, the KU Endowment has all the tools they need for easily navigating through the various departments to find information about all the people that make up the organization.
