The world's largest interactive services company needed a charting tool to
visualize HR data for planning and organizing a workforce of 20,000
employees. After considering many options, they settled on OrgPlus
Enterprise to provide a unified view of the HR data, allowing managers to
better utilize current resources, as well as plan for the future.
The Challenge
The interactive services company was using PeopleSoft®
to capture and manage Human Resources data in
real-time but did not have a standard organizational
charting tool to provide a unified view of the HR data.
They needed a browser-based org charting solution that
would integrate with PeopleSoft and present multiple
views of the organization from one central location. The
solution had to deliver secure, role-based access to
confidential data so that managers could measure
headcount, conduct succession planning and develop
workforce modeling scenarios.
The Solution
After conducting an extensive evaluation of organizational
charting solutions, the interactive service company
found that OrgPlus Enterprise best suited their requirements
and integrated easily with PeopleSoft to deliver
real-time access to organizational data and charts. Using
OrgPlus Enterprise, they can automatically create
multiple views of the organization that can be securely
accessed within a web browser. The company's managers
download charts into OrgPlus 5 putting real-time
workforce information into the hands of management.
Managers are now able to model different workforce
scenarios to prepare for succession planning and
company reorganization.
Multiple Views of the Organization
First and foremost for the company in their decision to
implement OrgPlus Enterprise was the ability to build
several different versions of the organizational data.
Using OrgPlus Enterprise, the company is able to deliver
multiple views of the organization to meet the needs of
everyone in the company. All employees have browserbased
access to a view of the organization that includes
the entire reporting structure, along with photos and
contact information, giving everyone information about
their place within the organization.
From a workforce planning and management perspective,
the company creates views of the organization that
allow managers to design alternate workforce scenarios
to plan and model human resources data. Confidential
and sensitive information, such as performance ratings
and salary can be shown in a different view that is only
accessible by those with the proper security access.
OrgPlus Enterprise allows for secure, role-based access
allowing the company to be confident that sensitive data
remains confidential and can only be viewed by
authorized users.
OrgPlus Enterprise provides charts directly from
PeopleSoft for timely employee information.
